I know the mirror is extremely powerful, but I also don't want to just be limited to it. I find the lantern interesting, since it's nice for utility and combat both (plus it looks cool).

Free Archetype does open up the opportunities a bit. But by level 10 you have your normal reaction, a dedicated shield block reaction, and a dedicated AoO reaction. You have the powerful champion reaction. Not to mention your Divine Ally Shield, which can take a beating. Probably 1 use of Lay of Hands.
