Full crystal with a regular crystal bow is probably alot better than you think, I was surprised when I used it on leagues. Crystal armor itself is not a big upgrade over black dhide without the bowfa, outside of the ranged defense. I would bank it for now so you aren't burning charges and pull it back out when you are able to afford the bowfa. It's a marginal range accuracy bonus over blessed d'hide. Use it where you'd use that.

Black sucks, can't see it anywhere dark+ it looks like you're running around with a darklight. Red is decent Blue is decent White is decent. Green is ugly & only used because pegs. Purple suffers similar issues as black.

Crystal bow without armor is roughly equal to msb i, karil bow and rcb at places like shamans for example. Gets beaten by blowpipe though. With crystal armor though as was mentioned, it gets a huge accuracy and damage buff which makes it good at places like godwars, toa, wildy, zulrah, really anywhere you'd use bowfa, just a bit worse.

Crystal armour doesnt need a defensive value buffs, but it could act as a proselyte armour for ranged. Give it prayer bonuses comparable to Other BIS prayer. On top of that, it could have some small ranged str bonus, making it into a more offensive option compared to other tier 70 ranged armour ( like karils,armadyl, blessed dhide ).
