Many videos and guides exist on the basics and several designs, but I've tooled around with some builds and come up with one that I think works the best and "grows with you". Start out with a single segment, on land, and put a floor on it. Do NOT put it in the water yet!

Marvin the raft is crafted by placing a foundation on water. Craft a raft base with wood, planks, buoys, tyres or whatever and make your raft as big as you like - the raft base will join the raft - just use the hammer to craft (blue). Crafting with an axe is orange, crafting with the hoe is green.

From what I've seen this is what you do. Let's say you want to build a 3X2 raft. You build the back layer of three 1st including floor. When starting the front row of three put your anchor on the front middle plank after you've laid down the frame,tyres or buoys or barrels.

Game loads the next cell but you only not the raft. Stranded deep resources are limited, there is no such thing as respawn resources in stranded deep except 1 or 2 things.To do this, exit the Stranded Deep and shut down your PS4 completely.
