The HTR came out in 2015, I got mine the same year, every year I go and shoot all the new offerings by Mathews, Hoyt, PSE, Elite, Bear, the brands my pro shop carries, and in these years, none has come close to it in terms of: Quietness, lack of vibration, ease of drawing and mass weight.

The Halon is absolutely the best bow out there.Actually the HTX is faster. It only goes to a 28 inch draw length so you are comparing it at 28 to the HTR at 30. It's faster because of the reduced brace height. But it is also less forgiving. The HTR is one of the most forgiving and smoothest drawing bows Mathews has ever made in my opinion. Get an HTR and never look back.
