And depending on how much DEF you have in the tank at that moment, the crystal might dissolve and clear the code. Sometimes it doesn’t.

Resetting the DEF. So I have a 2012 Duramax. The DEF fluid got low. It read 200 miles remaining. So I put more DEF fluid in. It held 1.5 gallons. Which is not enough to fill the tank on that.
