I love the look and feel of this rifle. It's got some real heft to it, much heavier than my No4 MkI. I doubt it saw much use judging from the bore, which looks clean. Images pasted below. The Rifle No1 was a "Millie" (spelt MLE), but the No1 MKIII was a SMLE (pronounced Smellie), but the rifle No 4 was not, just to confuse you more. The short magazine was the same length as the long one, but the rifles taking them were shorter & longer.
