But you said you did that and it didn't work. Try doing it again. Sometimes that'll work. There's really nothing else that can happen. 1. I got past the tonal lock without any problems, talked to Katria and picked up the first Aetherium Shard, which obviously adds the objective of finding the remaining shards.Solution: Read book, Travel to Arkngthamz and Katria will give a warning to turn back; upon finishing conversation with her the quest starts up. Fix: If the fragment is dropped, the book is read, and the fragment is picked back up, the quest will be activated. From the wiki. My saves don't go back to before I started Dawnguard which seems to be the issue sadly.
