Please consider creating a new thread.As for reading date codes on Holley carbs, there are 3 digit dates and 4 digit dates. The 3 digit dates lasted until about 1973. The first digit is the year. 6 = 1966, 0 = 1970. The second digit is the month. 2 = February, 9 = September, 0 (for 10) = October. The last two months used letters, A = November, B = December.My AAR original carbs were dated 992 and 993 1969, Sep, 2nd and 3rd week. If you don't believe me than call Holley and they and straighten it out. The model # XXXXX my carb;carter AFB is 3461S. This # XXXXX XXXXX in all documentation books as the correct # XXXXX a 1963 Corvette, 327/340hp motor. My question has to do with the date code. The right front of my carb. has 3461S and right below this is BA3. The books say A3 is the date, A means January, the #3 means 1963.Holley date coding for 1973 - 1975 had a 4 digit code number!!!!! It could be 1979, the four digit date code started in the seventies. Usually all the seventies carbs have slotted bowl screws, not the hex that's seen on later Holley's. It is a service carb for the 67 Corvette but correct in every way. I would not worry about it and just use it for yourself.

You can always call Holley's tech hotline and ask a Holley technician to help decipher the date code, but remember, this number doesn't have any particular use for you, so you really don't need to worry about it.
