I've had my LR3 for over a year now, and the last few days there has been a constant Cat Sensor Interrupt even though no cat is inside. Resetting hasn't worked. It's not too heavy, it's on flat surface, it's not pushed against wall. Sometimes it will cycle as normal. Yesterday it cycled normally.
It certainly sounds like the Litter Robot manufacturer is acting responsibly. I have a fundamental issue, personally, with technology for its own sake. The idea of updating firmware in a cat box (not my problem), refrigerator (not my problem), or my car (this is a problem) makes my head spin.

I think the litter robot 4 uses an IR motion sensor to determine if there is a cat inside. If they go in and sit relatively still long enough the lr4 won't know they are there and cycle. I had to wait for the robot to stop itself, open the bonnet, detach globe slightly and clean out channel where globe sits and sensors are housed. Hope this helps someone!
