I have only had Gen 1s, and generally popped in ALGs. I have a 5.56 Gen 1 and want to swap the trigger but I was considering tracking down a Gen 2 trigger. Part of it is, is I tried popping in the ALG (I've done it before, shaved down the back portion to fit a Galil) but I don't know what I'm missing, it still won't work right. I put a binary trigger in my Galil ace gen 1, 7.62x39. It hung up on the bolt guides rails. Fitment was not an issue. I did have to polish up the guides a bit, and it works fine.
